Welcome to Waterside Therapies

Leave the stresses of the world behind and rediscover relaxation in a calm, comfortable, warm and welcoming haven of complementary therapies.  Allow yourself the luxury of being pampered amid soft towels, gentle music and the beautiful aromas of essential oils.

Waterside Therapies is based in Bradwell-on-Sea, which is a small, picturesque village on the Blackwater Estuary.

I offer a home based, one to one professional service and I have been a member of CThA (the leading professional association representing sports, spa and complementary therapists in the UK and Ireland) for 15 years.

My dedicated, well equipped treatment room overlooks the river and echoes the calm and soothing atmosphere of the surrounding countryside.  I practice many therapies (please see Therapies and Charges under the Services heading) so there is a good choice of treatments, with more to come (read about them under the Latest News heading).  A friendly, confidential consultation on or before your first visit will enable me to recommend the most suitable treatment(s) for your individual needs – if you so wish.  You may be booking a treatment to address a specific complaint, or to try a new therapy, or purely for relaxation.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you require more information or if you would like to book an appointment.  Ample off-street parking is available.

Please note:  Complementary therapies may seriously improve your health!

Neals Yard Remedies Signature Treatments

These are normally only available in the Neals Yard stores but there are a few therapists who are accepted to train in a special selection of the signature treatments.  I was delighted to hear very recently that I have been accepted as one of those therapists and will be offering their treatments in the very near future, so watch this space!

About Me

I took my first steps into the wonderful world of Complementary Therapies way back in 2003 when I ‘fancied’ learning Indian Head Massage.  Unfortunately (or as it happens, fortunately) the course was full.  But a friend persuaded me to join her on another course that interested her, and ten months later I had a level 3 qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Holistic Massage!

I also gained a distinction in On-Site Massage the same year, a course that included extensive content on Stress Management.  At that time I had no  intention of pursuing a career as a therapist but after discovering the damage that stress can do to our health I decided I wanted to learn more.  The following year I received a Distinction in Aromatherapy and a Credit in Reflexology.  While I was studying these subjects I saw my case study volunteers  benefit from my treatments and I knew that I had to continue.

As you will see I have since completed many more courses and gained many more qualifications for my continuous professional development.  My commitment to you is that by using this knowledge and experience I will offer, and deliver, the best treatment I can for your individual wants and needs.

My children have grown and flown, and my grandchildren are now at school so I can concentrate more on my therapy business and organise workshops where I will be able to share some of that knowledge by offering fun, informal and interesting classes so you can use complementary therapies in your everyday life.

There will be also be opportunities for you to create your own products to take home with you.

I know how hard it is to make time for ourselves in this busy, hectic life.  But we should all try to allow some me time to help us cope with what life throws at us.  Unsurprisingly I am going to say that a good, regular massage is ideal, but hobbies can also be great stress busters too.

Keep an eye on my blog (which I’m hoping to update at least monthly) because depending on how much interest is shown I might also be able to offer some fun classes in crafts and cake decorating – two of my hobbies.   I would also like to share my love of the great outdoors and tell you about my other hobbies – gardening and walking, but more about that later.
